Just out of curiosity, why are the FrameMarker prefabs by default not square in size in Unity? Is there any benefit for having a non-square FrameMarker?

No, this is actually a "bug" that slipped in the last minute. Frame markers should be square, and won't track correctly if they are not. Please be sure to change the size accordingly, the scale is arbitrary but should be square.
