Honeycomb support and possible bug in Asus Transformer?

August 10, 2011 - 2:40am #1

First of all, thanks for the update to the QCAR SDK!
I could finally deploy my application using Unity 3.4 and a Honeycomb tablet.

However, every 10 seconds I get a message on my app:

Quote:

Compass Interference: Move away any interference or re-calibrate by waving Eee PAD in a figure motion.

I'm testing my app using an Asus Transformer. I guess is a device specific problem. I'm not sure if other tablets also present a similar problem. Does the QCAR AR uses a compass information?

Hello,

Can you tell me the exact model of the device you are using. Also, have you tried the sample applications? Do they run correctly?

What OS version is your device running?

Thank you,

-Peter

Hello,

What version of Unity are you using? Unity 3.4 is required for Android 3.0 support.

Thank you,

My apps does not use neither accelerometer nor compass information. I see the same message appearing in the sample apps, and only in the apps I build using Unity + QCAR SDK. I do not see this message in any other app on my Transformer.

Is like every 30 seconds that it shows this message. The logcat only outputs this every time the message is shown:

[QUOTE" />08-11 11:14:40.627: DEBUG/Unity(18621): NativeActivity window focus changed: 0x208380 -- 0
08-11 11:14:40.627: WARN/InputManagerService(137): Starting input on non-focused client com.android.internal.view.IInputMethodClient$Stub$Proxy@4119e340 (uid=10094 pid=18621)
[/QUOTE" />

[B" />EDIT[/B" />: Seems that I was right, this bug is affecting Asus Transformers. I found a thread on a forum with many people having this popup appearing while playing other games and so... I guess I have to wait until Asus fixes this.

Hello,

QCAR does not use the accelerometer or compass. Does your app include some code that uses the compass? Maybe there is an app running in the background using the compass?

Do you see the same message appearing in the Sample apps?

Thank you,

-Peter
