How to run sample virtualbutton package in unity?

September 26, 2011 - 8:10pm #1

Hi all,

Im a total newbie to unity. I saw there is a package for virtualButton (qcar-unity-virtualbuttons-android-1-0-6.unitypackage).

After i imported this package into a new unity project, i noticed all the models, scripts, textures and etc. are there already.

1) But how do i make use of all these to play the scene? Do i need to rearrange manually these elements into the scene?

2) How to convert this unity project into my eclipse, how to generate all the .obj files?

2) And how do i run the project and move the application to my android tablet?

Need guidance pls.

That would be the problem, you can't run a QCAR app using the standalone or web player. You must deploy to an Android or iOS device.

The sample projects are fully set up, simply import the unity package and open the included scene file.

Unity is a full game development tool, not a 3D modeling tool. You can't export models from Unity.

To run a QCAR application you'll need the Android or iOS basic add on. Be sure to choose the correct platform from the Build Settings menu.

Ok..i got your point..i should have opened the scene. Didnt noticed it. :p

But when i tried to build and run the sample project in a platform named PC and Mac Standalone, the player sceen shows empty and black. Whats happening actually? Why its not showing anything to me?

By the way, im using the basic free Unity software. So, unable to select the Android platform to build.
