Can you run other (non-QCAR) Unity applications on the device? It isn't in Unity's supported devices list. The armv6 chip may be a problem...

Take a look at the sample videos for a better understanding of what's supposed to happen:

Samples > ImageTargets

Note that these videos are taken of the regular SDK samples, but the Unity SDK samples are quite similar.

Geez, everytime I come back to this website I have to go through some extranious steps to reset my password. I feel like I'm logging into the FBI grid or something.

Anyway, All I get is access to the camera. There are no targets, there are no teapots, nothing. Just the camera, and the menu that pops up when you tap the screen to adjust focus, turn on flash, and so forth.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'background', there is no foreground, nothing. The camera turns on. Just like if I were to turn on the camera normally.

At this stage I am utterly unsure just what these unity scenes are supposed to be showing me what can be done, other than turning on the camera.

Which is nice, Ive been begging for months for access to the camera via Unity.

Other than that, none of the other stuff works like I have read it is supposed to.

So you can see the camera preview rendered in the background? Make sure you have the correct target printouts in front of you, they are included in the Editor/QCAR/ForPrint folder. What happens when you get the target in view? Make sure you have good lighting, and start by focusing on the center of the target. The teapot should pop up once you've got a lock and then you can move the device freely.

I am just trying to run the distributed examples on my phone, HTC Evo, PC36001

I didnt want to create a whole new thread for something as simple as trying to run the example packages.

I get no errors, I run Unity stuff just fine on my machine.

What I get whenever I try any of the distributed AR stuff from Qualcomm, is it just turns my camera on.
If I tap the screen, I have choices on turning on the Flash (turns on the LED), autofocus, and manual focus selections, all of which dont actually change the focus.

Other than that, nothing. No teapot, No cereal box, no empty Bowl.

Is there a guide somewhere on how to step-by-step run the distributed Unity Extension Examples? Like is there some settings on the objects I see in the scene that need to be set or something?

I can clearly see the objects in the scene, the scene is set to be included with the build.
In this case (ive tried them all, all with same just camera working result), its the QCAR-ImageTargets.unity scene.

Ive read through the getting started section, nothing in there says there is some special thing to do to get them to work.

I already develop on the phone with Unity, using the android sdk and Eclipse. Yes I'm connected to the internet.

This is a Unity issue (not a QCAR issue), but to get rid of the warning you can drop the Default Mobile Quality setting to Simple. Go to Edit > Project Settings > Quality to find this setting.

Make sure your device is connected to the internet when you run the first time. Delete the existing app from your phone, connect to the internet, then run again. If it still isn't working, try running some other Unity applications on the device, to make sure Unity itself works with the device. The QCAR Unity extension will only work if Unity supports the device as well.

Let us know if you are still having trouble.
