Inner Cylindrical Tracking

February 26, 2014 - 7:25am #1

Hey all,

I was wondering if it is possible using Cylinder tracking to track the inner circumference of the cylinder rather than the outer surface normals.  The current sample app allows me to wrap an image target around the cylinder and pass in the lengths and diameters, etc., however I'd like to be able to simulate being "inside" of a cylinder and tracking the inner walls (e.g., a circular room, an airplane fuselage's curved walls, etc.).  We'd like to put image targets onto a curvilinear wall but we need to be able to compensate for the distortion that the curvilinear surface introduces.

Has anyone experimented with this?

Thanks,

Vince

Hi, this is a use case that has not been tested, and to my knowledge it is not supported; you may make an experiment, but I believe the result will be incorrect from a tracking perspective.

However, you can post this as a request in our forum Wish List:
