iOS with Unity: How to enable 60fps video feed

August 12, 2016 - 4:14am #1

Hello,

I am using Vuforia SDK v6 and Unity to develop an iOS application on an iPad Pro.

In the release notes for the v6, I have seen that support for 1080p @ 60fps on iOS has been introduced.

How can I enable this feature with Unity when deploying to an iOS device?

Thanks in advance.

Mat.

Hello,

This depends upon the device specs. We will continue to roll out 1080p/60fps support as additional devices are released that support it, and meet our performance requirements.

Also note that on the iPad Pro 12.9 we enabled 1080p/30fps in Vuforia 6. Admittedly, the quality improvement is difficult to observe compared to our previous 720p/30fps setting for Vuforia 5.X.

Thanks

Maybe that's why I can't get it to work then, I am using the iPad Pro 12.9"...

Would this feature come to the larger iPad in the near future ?

iOS with Unity: How to enable 60fps video feed

Hello,

1080p @ 60fps capture and rendering has been enabled on select Apple devices running Vuforia 6 and iOS 9:

  • iPhone SE
  • iPhone 6S
  • iPhone 6S Plus
  • iPad Pro 9.7"

The performance mode has been set by default, so you don't need to take any action to enable it.

Thanks
