Thank you Alessandro for answering. I am using unity for my development, so it is possible to do it through unity. I tried writing an eventhandler C# script for the virtual button but it is not working for me. The same eventscript works for 3d models though. Can you please suggest me what should I do? Do your virtual buttons have colliders attached? Raycast will only return the outHit if the object with which the collision occurs has a collider component attached.
You could also try increasing the distance that the ray travels. While not ideal, you could set the ray to cast at a distance of Mathf.Infinity to be sure its casting a long enough ray into the scene so that if in fact your virtual buttons do have colliders this will rule out distance from the virtual button as the problem.
