Is it possible to use ImageTarget and User-Defined Target at same time?

May 16, 2013 - 3:49am #1

Hi,

I want to use ImageTarget and User-Defined Target at same time.

So I have tried to add ImageTarget to User-Defined Target sample project in the following steps.
  • Create a project by importing the User-Defined target sample package.
  • Download the target(XXX.unitypackage) from TMS , and import to current project.
  • Add the ImageTarget prefab to the scene.
  • Attached the teapot 3D to ImageTarget.
  • Change the "Data Set Load Behaviour"(attached the ARCamera) settings from the inspector.
    • Select the "Load Data Set XXX" checkbox.
    • Select the "Activate" checkbox.
  • Change the "ImageTarget Behaviour"(attachec the ImageTarget) settings from the inspector.
    • Select the "Data Set" and "Image Target" values to the correct.
But when build & run, app have crashed.

Is there something wrong?

Also David I don't understand what you mean by this. Does this allow for simultaneous tracking of UDTs?

Has the situation improved yet?

The error I am getting is 'Could not associate DataSetTrackableBehaviour '' - no matching Trachable found in DataSet!'

If I make the TargetName of the User Defined target one that already exists, then they sort of work at the same time (both are enabled), but the predefined one always destroys the user defined one. Still useful for something, but it's pretty ugly and makes me consider looking into an alternative AR core like Kudan.

Thank you for reply.

My use case is that to show the same 3D model at any user-defined image or predefined image.
Even after the user-defined target has been created, i want to recognize the predefined image any time.

Any good ideas?

Thanks for the reports, we are aware of this issue.

What is the use case that you need to implement?

Do the targets need to exist simultaneously or could they be alternated at runtime?
