modifying multi targets in runtime

February 24, 2012 - 11:56am #1

hi,
i have two questions regarding multi targets in unity.
1) is it possible to add/remove parts of a multi target in the unity plugin like it is in the sdk? e.g. by modifying the .xml file in runtime or something? if yes, is there any guide about it?
2) is it possible to find out what parts of the multi target (what image targets) are currently recognized by the plugin? as far as i've seen so far it is just recognizing the multi target as a whole, right?
best,
stefan

Hi Stefann

1. Is not currently supported for the extension, though it may be in future versions.

2. Is not a feature of the API. Only the MT itself is recognized.

You may want to do a search on the forum. I think that Kim has described a method for inferring the camera-facing target based on the pose information. I've also done some testing using an ImageTarget matching a given MultiTarget face, and laid these onto each other. While you can't detect them both at the same time, you should be able to determine the facing target by alternating the active data set when either is detected.
