Panorama: How to keep displaying big Model even if target image is out of view?

Hello

I have a Big Model that i want to display if the target image is in the view of the device camera(that’s no problem) but the mesh should be displayed even if the marker is out of view because it is around the target marker itself, like a room.

The person holding the Mobile device should be able to turn around as if he is inside of a 3d Panorama. So Basically i just need the image target to automatically select the mesh and set the location for the pivot of the “panorama mesh”(An ar room for exsample) 

Dose anybody has any idea how i could accomplish that? Is it even possible that way, or do i need a gps position for this?

So basically you want to track the image target even while the camera has moved away from it, right?

Well, currently this feature is not supported, but feel free to post in our Wish List that gets reviewed by the Product Team.

There are a few ways to do this, but all of them require something more than just Vuforia.

1.  Use the marker as a reference point, and when the marker is lost, use the Gyroscope in the device.  This lets you move in 3DOF (pitch roll yaw) but won't allow you to update the position anymore, so it'll drift.

2.  Use a Unified coordinate system (there's a Vuforia extension that's been kicking around on this forum).  I think elecman was working on it.  Basically it means multiple markers all displaying the same system so as long as you keep 2 targets in view you can wallpaper your room in markers and create a very large trackable space.

3. Use GPS position.  Not recommended, without the asssitance of a base station/RTK system/RTCM Correction data, the best you can hope for is 5m of drift.

4.  Use an entirely different tracking system, you'll have to google it to see what else is out there...  Pointcloud.io and the Obvious Engine both support SLAM/PTAM tracking but they are always changing their price/terms of service and aren't so easy to use.  Vuforia is my go to AR library right now, and I prefer it to all the alternatives.

Hello!

Has something changed in this topic since it was discussed here? Does Vuforia support triggering environments? Is it possible to achieve, to a certain extend, via extended tracking?

It would be helpful enough if the image target was immense and didn't disappear when the marker is lost...
