Performance with 1000 images or 10 datasets...?

November 21, 2012 - 8:36pm #1

Vuforia tracks the images well and fast if i have around 30 images in my dataset...But what will happen if i have around 10 datasets each with 80 images...

So to detect around 800 or 1000 images, how much time will it take ?? And will the performance affected to a larger extent ??

Please suggest...

Thanks a lot NalinS and Davidbeard.

Any idea about when the cloud recognition will be available for vuforia ?? Because the beta service is already full for a long time, so waiting for the release of Vuforia Cloud Service.

800 or 1000 is really a job for the Cloud Recognition service. You wouldn't be able to handle that many targets effectively as datasets on the device.

Bear in mind that only one dataset can be active at any time, so the 10 datasets here is kind of irrelevant.

80 images - well, you will need to try it out as it depends on a number of different factors:

e.g. device power, target rating, camera settings (speed, quality), #simultaneous targets etc.

Some in the forums have managed to get good results with this number of images, so the best thing to do is to do a quick test.
