I am checking in daily to see if the Unity plugin got an update, because I cannot advance my game without it.
I planned on working the entire december exclusively for the Dev challenge, now half the time is up and all I could do is produce assets and test my code with one target.
I created my concept based around the promised features and downscaled it, when I realized that important needed features aren't possible yet (MultiImage Targets, Virtual Buttons/Occlusion).
At the moment Unity developers can't compete with NDK developers, because we wait for an update that will come in the next couple of weeks, which is a problem, since we have only 3 weeks left do develop.
Please think about postponing the submission date in the next week, so we can plan accordingly. With the current Unity Android workflow (no Unity Remote etc.) I need at least a week of testing to release a good game and I don't want to produce a lot of stuff that can't be implemented in time for the challenge. Having a realistic timetable is important, if you want to deliver a good game experience. If we don't have enough time to implement the new features, there won't be many Unity products that can compete, so please give us some more details, telling us a update will come in the next couple of weeks is not enough, when you set a submission date that is 3 weeks away. We don't even know what exactly will be in it, MultiImage Targets, Occlusion, both?
You should always understand that postponing the deadline has a negative impact for some people two: some of us have planned a small games which can be made in such a short term taking into account all the risk of Beta stage technology. Postponed deadlines puts us in a tricky situation: we can't just scrap our games and start working on new ones and blowing our game just because we have more time doesn't work either.
Anyway, I'm not bitching :) I'm putting my trust in Qualcomm people that they will do The Right Thing (tm) ;)
Thanks for the improved Unity plugin!
