maximrouf tutorial only works in android.When i tried to export it for IOS.it throws error like below.

 

1. Dll could not be found - RenderTextureCamera.cs - Line 174

2.Unzip could not be found - SharpZipLibUnzipper.cs

its not even publising to xcode files.

 

can anyone confirm and hel to resolve it ?

Hi, what I did was to comment the code to capture screen and I do not set the error, but I have problems compiling in xcode, in the documentation it appears that you have to add AssetsLibrary.framework in xcode but I have not co-created how to add it, you know how?

hi. can anyone help me. this is the case: when the texture is captured, i want it to be saved, not on local storage but just temporarily save in while the application is running. the reason is because i only want to use the texture for another scene. cause i have a game scene wherein the texture of the 3d model will be based on the captured texture from AR camera... i was thinking about storing it in a static variable and then calling it on the other scene but i dont know the code for storing the texture in variable. i hope someone will response. thanks

Hi, great plugin!

I'm having a problem, in my case i need that the  "Region_Capture_Unity" be inside the image target in unity, but if i put "Region_Capture_Unity" inside the image target the texture i'm getting is displaced..any thoughts that help me to solve this?

Hi Maximrouf,

I have a problem with shifted texture on some android devices(Note 5, Nexus 4,....) On iOS devices its worked fine. on android LG V10 is worked fine too

I found a solution: you have to add "using System.Runtime.InteropServices;" to your class!

1. In the project navigator, select your project.

2. Select your target.

3. Select the "Build Phases" tab.

4. Open "Link Binaries With Libraries" expander.

5. Click the + button.

6. Select your framework.

7. (optional) Drag and drop the added framework to the "Frameworks" group.

No you have to add this framework in xcode. For some reason unity doesnt add it automatically.

Hi, currently I'm working on a project for AR coloring too. I already success to make the 3D AR object to pop out, but when I apply color on my 2d plane, 3D object does not detect the color change. Any one know the reason and the solution? Thousand thanks for the help :)

Hi,

At first, you've done an amazing work so thank you !!

Now, we're working with regionCapture 1.8.0 on Unity 5.6.2 and Vuforia 6.2.10 and we have some issues on  iPad Air 1.

The texture doesn't apply entirely on our 3D model. But it works fine on iPhone 6S and some Android devices.

Did you fix these issues in your last update?

Hi,

At first, you've done an amazing work so thank you !!

Now, we're working with regionCapture 1.8.0 on Unity 5.6.2 and Vuforia 6.2.10 and we have some issues on  iPad Air 1.

Hey folks, I stumbled over the "Texture Shift" issue recently. I read you've found a script or something to prevent the texture from shifting?

However this Pastebin link was removed and so I still have this issue :/ 

Can anybody please provide me with the needed scripts and a short instruction where to put them? 

I'm running the 5.6.3p4 Version of Unity.

Hello friends.

I uploaded a new version 2.0.6

Now there is a new debug-scene (named "Debug_UI"), where you can fix the shift using the control buttons.

Instruction:

  • Build and run the debug-scene on your device.
  • Press the control buttons to fix texture shift.
  • If the shift is corrected - take a screenshot and post it here. (please use the link to any free image hosting)

You need to run this application two times (i.e., in two modes):

  1. With the autorotation turned on (in the system settings of your device, not in build settings)
  2. With the autorotation turn off.

Also, please post the following information:

  • Unity version
  • Vuforia version
  • RegionCapture version
  • Device name

Hello Maxim,

I believe you've uploaded the wrong files in the last two versions. Region_Capture.cs (not RegionCapture) file is missing, and the other file simple maps the unwrapped UV to the region capture plane and it's not working, that's the problem ertr2 is complaining about.

I've switched to the 1.8 version in your github and it worked fine. Strange that your samples use the new RegionCapture.cs and according to your posts it's supposed to work, but it doesn't contain any reference to ImageTarget.

I've downloaded your new package and run your demo, the problem still exists. Here is a video showing the problem:

The RegionCapture that is linked to the model is only performing some U/V operations on the captured texture, not using the ImageTarget at all. If I remove these operations then obviously the texture is copied to the RegionCapture surfaces.

 

I'm using Vuforia 7.0.36, but I don't believe this is the problem since your old version works fine.

Hello Maxim,

sorry for the delay, it was x-mas holiday. I've created a sample raw project, using your provided sample with the astronaut image as the target. You can both use the astronaut image on your cell-phone or print it bw, it works also.

The expected result was that the astronaut texture was correctly mapped to the sphere, but as you can see the result is only some noise. I've tracked the problem to the U/V mapping that doesn't use any information about the image target.

Hi Pedrohbalmeida.

This is due to the size discrepancy between the ImageTarget and the RegionCapture gameobject.

In your case, the ImageTarget has dimensions of widht and height {W 0.06985 – H 0.12065}

You need to scale the "RegionCapture_A" gameobject as –

X = (ImageTarget W * 0.1f) = 0.006985

Z = (ImageTarget W * 0.1f) = 0.006985 (because we need a quad region here)

And you need to scale the "RegionCapture_B" gameobject as –

X = (ImageTarget W * 0.1f) = 0.006985

Z = (ImageTarget H * 0.1f) = 0.012065

Also you need to scale the "My_Model_B" gameobject as –

X = 0.05789474

Y = 0.02341484

In older versions, the scale transform was generated automatically.

(AutoRegionSize checkbox) However, it may sometimes mislead users.

Probably, I need to do something similar in the next version.

                I used the region capture concept in ARToolkit-Unity. I got it working. Thanks for the concept. I'm trying to implement the same in EasyAR-Unity. But its not working over there. Will the concept work in other AR tools like EasyAR supporting Unity. Could you guide me in this regard.

Hi Maximrouf,

                      Thanks for that wonderful code. I did it using EasyAR_Unity and got it working in Unity Editor. But Android and iOS build did not give me the output. I can upload the screenshots. 

Screenshot1 shows the working output. I made a manager gameobject and attached a script to it (Capture.cs) instead of RC_Get_Texture on the model(Cube). In the capture.cs I just detect the target, save the texture from orthographic camera over the region_capture plane as png and load it on object. Red round shows the saved png file.

Screenshot 2 shows the output of the same project from my android device. The region is not captured on it. The color is from the Shader main color that is shown in Screenshot3. Can you help me out. iOS is also having the same issue.

Hi Pancar.

You need to set the "World Center Mode" in the ARCamera settings as "First_Target"

In the "Region_Capture_A" and "Region_Capture_B" GameObjects please check the "Flip texture Y"
