Is there a way to get the size of the UDT? I gather this is usually proportional to the screensize when the UDT is captured, but it seems even scaling the gameobject size to that of the imagetarget does not seem to match..

Hi, the size of a UDT is just the size of that Image Target, as defined initially in your scene (see your user-define target in your scene in the Unity Editor).
