UDT with ImageTarget child objects that change dynamically

May 31, 2013 - 1:33am #1

It seems that each time a UDT is defined, a clone of the ImageTarget gameobject is created.

1) Is there a way to reference the image target clone gameobject that is created?

2) Is there a way to not have a clone of an imagetarget gameobject be created, but have the newly tracked UDT be just an existing image target?

mBuiltDataSet.CreateTrackable(trackableSource, oldImageTargetGameObject); // it seems that this automatically clonse oldGameObject - is there a way to not clone it but use the original image target gameobject?

2. The UDT and Predefined trackable types aren't substitutable in that way. But you can provide an uncloned UDT trackable to the CreateTrackable's method in place of a copy.

Is there a better way than using Find()?

How do you provide an uncloned UDT trackable to CreateTrackable? It seems CreateTrackable would automatically instantiate?

1. You can use GameObject.Find to obtain a reference to the target's game object in the scene - the name of the cloned object will be appended with (Clone) - e.g. target_name(Clone)
