"Unable to install APK!"

December 14, 2010 - 12:37pm #1

I get this error when I try to build and run using the Android SDK Platform 2.2, API 8, revision 2:

Unable to install APK!
pkg: /data/local/tmp/Package.apk

I'm on Windows XP using Unity 3.1.0f3 (Pro).
Any help would be appreciated!

I have the same issue right now and think it came up after I upgraded by unity.

Did you find any solution for this??

Thanks,

Renaming the bundle identifier did the trick...thanks a bunch!

There are two typical causes for this error:

1) Your device is out of internal storage space. Delete a few applications to make some room. Note that Android devices need double the size of the application available to install it.

2) There is another application with the same bundle identifier, but installed from a different source, on the device. Delete any applications with the same name.

If you click on the error in the Unity log you should get more information.

Did you allow apps to install from unknown sources in your phone? If not please do so as per the documentation.

1. On the phone, go to Settings->Applications and choose "Unknown sources"
2. Go to the Development dialog on the same screen and choose "usb debugging" and "stay awake"
