Hi Vuforia Devs,

First of all thanks for the amazing vuforia lib. Concerning Unity 4.3 is there a planed release date for the compatibility update?

The Vuforia SDK 2.8 release is now available - https://developer.vuforia.com/resources/sdk/unity

This version is compatible with Unity 4.3.

Be sure to consult the migration guide when upgrading your project - https://developer.vuforia.com/resources/dev-guide/transitionmigration-guide

Hi vuforia Devs,

Any news on the ETA of the fix. Can we hope for a christmas present?

Unfortunatelly, not acceptable.

Best I could get was a fixed rotation object and, as you said, we can only adjust its size and position. So whenever I flip the screen, it will not rotate properly.

It also comes in greyscale and in negative, which I couldn't adjust.

It's sad there is no way to work around this. I've also tried going into the code, but there's just too much of it.

I can only hope it will get fixed soon!

One thing you could try is to use the technique shown in the Background Texture Access sample, where the video background is rendered into a textured quadrilateral.

By adjusting the size and position of the quadrilateral, you might be able to come up with a centered and fullsize background.

However, we have not tested this approach, so not sure whether the final result would be acceptable.

Is there a quick hack/fix we can apply for the Android 1/4 screen issue?

The issue you describe (video at 1/4 size bottom-left) is all that I am aware of. So, you should not experience any other issues except the wierd visualization that you are seeing.

Thanks for the imediate response Allesandro. As my main target is Android at the moment I would also be interested in a more detailed description of the actual problem. Visually I have the effect that the camera video fills only 1/4 of the screenspace and the image is bottom-left aligned when in protrait mode. The augmented 3D content is still centered though.

I'm testing on a Nexus 7 (2013) with Android 4.4 at the moment.

Is that all of the problem? Because if so I would be OK testing my apps in that state for the moment or are there other issues that result from this?. As you might have noticed I'm not keen on downgrading my Unity at the moment.

Given that would it be a possible workaround for the time beeing to replace some of the libraries in the apk packaging process with working versions?

@SteeBee: nothing more serious or deeper; simply, the workarond that you use is available for iOS, but there is no equivalent for Android. µIf you are not working with Android, there is no concern.

@Mikem: no official dates, but you can check for possible updates over the coming weeks.

Also, would it be possible to get some more information on what the incompatibility is? I ask because I'm using 4.3, and the only problem I've encountered (in both editor and on device) was the Xcode linker error easily fixed by the sticky post https://developer.vuforia.com/forum/unity-3-extension-technical-discussion/unity-43-ios-compatibility-and-workaround. I'm wondering if there's some deeper and more serious problem that I just haven't encountered yet.
