Unity iOS model rendering problem

August 26, 2011 - 2:14pm #1

I have a 3d model as a child of Image Target in the hierarchy. Now when I put this app on iOS device the 3d models shows even if the target is not detected and when target is detected it disappear and never appears again.

When I use the "Add TrackableEventHandler" as specified in documentation it never shows up.

Everything work as expected with teapot model supplied though. What could be the problem with my 3d model?

The problem was with obj file. When I used fbx format it worked fine.

Start by making sure the trackable event handler is being called correctly. Watch the console in Xcode while running the application. Do you see the "Trackable xyz found" and "Trackable xyz lost" messages coming from the provided TrackableEventHandler script?

Then, take a look at what this script does. It finds all the renderer components that are a child of the trackable and enables/disables them as needed. Make sure that turning off the renderer component of your particular model is enough to make it disappear.

Finally, try adding your model to the ImageTargets sample app and placing it as a child of one of the targets. Does it work in that context?
