Using a transparent keyframe for video playback in unity

October 21, 2013 - 12:28pm #1

I'm using Vuforia's Video Playback package for Unity and I'm having trouble using a transparent texture for the Keyframe under the Video prefab -> Video Playback Behaviour script.

The effect I want is that when the target is recognized, only the play button appears, when the play button is pressed, the video plays like normal.

I used the 'transparentImageMaterial', which is just a transparent PNG, along with the Mobile/Unlit shader but all I'm getting is a black square.

Any ideas as to why it's not working?

Good, you're welcome - I think that I confused your post w/ another about Play Mode ;)

Ah, it seems I just didn't use the right shader. The one that worked for me was Transparent/Diffuse.

Thanks for the help!

Yes, I've tried several of the transparent shaders and I'm not using play mode. I'm building it and running it on my device each time.

Have you tried one of the Transparent shaders? - also try your approach on a device. The Video Playback feature isn't supported in Play Mode and that may be affecting your results.
