Vuforia - Assets missing.

April 14, 2014 - 10:22pm #1

Hello,

I imorted the Vuforia package file in Unity. I was following the tutorial. I was refering to this tutorial - " https://developer.vuforia.com/resources/dev-guide/step-2-compiling-simple-project

In this, step number 5 says

Select the ImageTarget object in your scene, and look at the Inspector. There should be an Image Target Behaviour attached, with a property named Data Set. This property contains a drop-down list of all available Data Sets for this project. When a Data Set is selected, the Image Target property drop-down is filled with a list of the targets available in that Data Set. "

However, when I looked into Inspector panel, I noticed that property named " Data Set " is missing. I have attached the screenshot for the following issue. Additon to that, in step number 6 says

Select the Data Set and Image Target from your StreamingAssets/QCAR project. In this example, we choose "StonesAndChips".  (It is automatically populated from the Device Database XML file that is downloaded from the online Target Manager). The Unity sample apps come with several Image Targets . To use them, copy them from the ImageTargets sample, or create your own at the Target Manager section of this site. "

There issue here is, the asset called " StonesAndChips " is missing from the path StreamingAssets/QCAR .

Please guide me, if I am missing something.

It would be fair to provide the answer instead of just saying it is fixed...asking for help but forgetting to provide.

So I had the same and the tutorial is a little unclear at that stage. Clicking the large button that says  a long sentence will open up the Target Manager you should have register and maybe filled with items already. Once you click one of the items, you can "Download selected target".

This will create a unitypackage that you download and import to your project. Then the inspector will change.

People from Vuforia, maybe you should update that little part of the tutorial since it is not really clear as why we are not seeing what is told.

Cheers.

Are you importing the latest version of the ImageTargets sample (vuforia_imagetargets-2-8-9.unitypackage)? Attached is a screenshot showing the Property Inspector values for the ImageTargetStones object. Alternatively, you can also use the Target Manager to create your own ImageTarget database file and import that into Unity.
