Vuforia - Google Cardboard Integration

Hello, 

I have read and saw videos about Google cardboard and it seems like it is a great piece of technology, cheap and very innovative. I couldn't stop thinking about tons of applications for it with vuforia:

I also found out that it has a unity extention, Cardboard SDK for Unity.

It think it would be a great help for applications developed my vuforia and uses google cardboard to enhance its effect, is there a way to integrate both of them?

No.. All 3d objects are attached to tracking image..

By "similar error", do you mean that the 3D model wasn't attached directly to the tracking image? If so, then I have encountered that issue before without trying to use the stereoscopic view (i.e. Google Cardboard), but I never really understood exactly why. I just recreated the AR camera environment according to the Vuforia instructions and it seemed to work.

Now that the Google Cardboard SDK supports iOS officially I will have to revisit this project and try again.

Staras Hello, may I ask if you've ever had a similar error with the direct test for device in?

These are days that I'm banging my head but nothing to do ... I do not know if it is due to pretend mode "stereoscopic" or not.

I have been playing around with this for the past few hours and I think I am getting pretty close. The problem I am having is that the video preview is too small for the left and right eye cameras as seen in the attached file: tooSmall3960. 

I manually played around with the Z value and when I change it from 3960 to 1420 (by trial and error). The video preview fits to the height of the side by side camera views as desired, but the scaling and positioning of the AR model is off. This can be seen in the attached file: zoomeIn1420.

I guess my question is how the BackgroundPlane dimensions are computed as it is initialized to 500 within the ARCamera prefab, but gets computed as 3960 when I run the application. Is there a way that I can control how the BackgroundPlane fits my viewport(s) and still retain the model size, location and orientation.

NOTE: When I deploy this on my iPhone (getting Google Cardboard to run on iOS was another adventure entirely...) The model seems to be even more misaligned with the target as evident in the attached iPhoneDino

I've tried to duplicate Camera (child of ARCamera GameObject) to have tow viewPort for google cardboard simulation

and set the viewport rect X, W on duplicated camera to 0.5, also 0.5 for rect W on origin camera, but scale of camera's images not the same,

i've tried to fix it by using Camera.CopyFrom() Script and cam.projectionMatrix = ARCam.projectionMatrix, and many other solutions but it do not work good;

how can i achive this?

Yes, I would like to know how to integrate unity, cardboard sdk and vuforia sdk as well. 

Aim is to get stereoscopic cameras with vuforia tracking working. 

Anyone can chime in here?

It is really strange that no one took advantage of it, the idea is great and affordable and ver effective. I think it suits Vuforia perfectly ...
