Where is the high-level menu item QCAR?

According to https://ar.qualcomm.at/sdk/ios Getting Started - Unity Extension -> Step 1: Installing the Extension:

"Note that after installation of the Vuforia Unity package, there will be a new high-level menu item - QCAR. This menu item provides easy access to documentation as well as target dataset naming and properties"

I downloaded vuforia-unity-ios-1-5-9.zip from Qualcomm website, ran the installer application and installed the 7 .unitypackage(s) into the directory Development/iOS/vuforia-unity-ios-1-5-9. But when I run Unity, I cannot find this new menu item QCAR. Where can I find it? Or was one of the steps in the procedure done incorrectly?

Yes, I know one can place packages into the Standard Packages folder to accomplish the same.

However, I cannot find where from (in the Mac OS X directory structure) to get the packages downloaded from the Unity asset store. Any idea where the packages are downloaded to? Thanks.

You can place packages in the Standard Packages folder to accomplish the same.

e.g.

  • Windows: C:\Program Files\Unity\Editor\Standard Packages
  • OS X: /Applications/Unity/Standard Packages

Thanks, after I did "import custom package" it shows as menu item "Vuforia" rather than "QCAR".

BTW, if I had "installed" the Vuforia assets from the Unity asset store instead of downloading from Qualcomm website, where (i.e. which directory or folder) would the unitypackage(s) be stored? Because stuff from the asset store will normally show up on the default list of importable unitypackages if one decides to create a new Unity project and I presume in this case that the Vuforia packages would then appear on this list.

Did you import the extension's unitypackage into your project?  This is the one named vuforia-[ iOS or Android ] - [Version Number].unitypackage.
