Black screen delay for different scenes

I had thought that when the scene is pre-loaded the first time, switching to that would not take as long?

I've experienced a solid 2+ second black screen on scene switch each time on the latest iPhone...

Is there a way to get around this or to make the load time better? The image targets aren't that complex.
