Does the end user need to download ARCore by Google from the Play Store for Vuforia to use ARCore?

Hello,

Does Vuforia require the end user to manually download ARCore by Google from the Play Store?

We have followed the tutorial here and have successfully used ARCore on devices that have manually downloded ARCore. Devices that did not manually download ARCore would run using VIO. We have look through the forums and have not seen this explicitly answered.

Hello,

You are correct. For ARCore to run on Vuforia enabled apps, the end user *must* download ARCore from the Play Store. Otherwise, it will revert to Vuforia VIO (if supported).
