Extended Tracking for an Android app built by Unity doesn't work

April 12, 2019 - 6:42am #1

I'd like use the Device Tracking with VuMark for an Android app.

I'm using Unity and am trying to setup along this article, but I can't find the app/build.gradle.

https://library.vuforia.com/content/vuforia-library/en/articles/Solution/arcore-with-vuforia.html

The configuration says

https://gyazo.com/76d63230268b51b7fc5b543778e38c5f

The environment is

Vuforia Version : 8.0.10

Android Version : 8.0.0

Device : Xperia XZ Premium G8188

I'm not sure if this way is correct and wondering if it's really possible to use the extended tracking with Android app built by Unity.

Please let me know if anyone used the extended tracking for an Android app built by Unity with recent version of Vuforia.

Thanks.

Hello,

Positional Device Tracking is only available on devices that are compatible with ARKit, ARCore and/or Vuforia VISLAM. Looking at our Fusion supported devices page, the Xperia XZ Premium G8188 is not supported.

However, looking at the ARCore supported devices page, this mode is listed and thus should be compatible with ARCore, which means Vuforia Fusion would support positional device tracking on this device (via ARCore).

I'd suggest you start by testing the Vuforia Engine Core samples, available on the Unity Play Store, deployed unaltered onto your device. Further, I'd also suggest that you review the ADB logs to confirm if ARCore support has been enabled:

$ adb logcat AR:D Unity:D *:S

Thanks,

Vuforia Engine Support
