Ground Plane Visualizer

January 23, 2020 - 8:07am #1

Do i need to use ARcore/ARkit explicitly in order to show a ground plane visualizer or is there a built in Vuforia feature for this?

As a follow-up question, if I do need to use ARcore/ARkit, can it be done in the same scene or should I run the first scene on ARcore/ARkit as a ground plane visualizer and once a plane is found, switch to the Vuforia based scene?

Hi,

Ground Plane uses Vuforia Fusion which "wrapps" the AR providers. Basically you don't need to worry what device you use, if its ARKit or ARCore supported. More info here: https://library.vuforia.com/content/vuforia-library/en/articles/Training/vuforia-fusion-article.html

The Groundplane visualizer is just a cosmetic change that can be applied to the scene. We demo Groundplane in our Core Sample apps, I recommend to go through it and see how it is set up.

Thank you.
