Horizontal marker for ground plane detection

I'm trying to simulate ground plane detection on device that only capable of positional tracking using image targets (markers) placed horizontaly on the ground. It works fine sometimes. But sometimes image target recognition leads to a tilted ground detection. As I know that image target is horizontal, I could use this information to correct virtual ground. I can see that -Input.gyro.gravity doesn't allign with the virtual ground normal but can't make up a solution to correct its rotation since it is stationary and only virtual camera rotates so I need to compensate it's rotation somehow... I'd appreciate if someone points out any mathematical approach to this problem.
