Hello guys,

I had checked some iOS device's camera fps at Vufora camera application that is quite simple AR camera app. Bellow is the results.

[Case 1]

  1. Unity 2019.2.6f1
  2. Vuforia Engine AR 8.3.9
  3. XCode 13.0beta
  • iPhone 11 13.0 => 30FPS
  • iPhone XR 13.1 => 60FPS
  • iPhone XS 13.0 beta4 => 60FPS
  • iPhone XS Max ? => 60FPS
  • iPhone 8 13.0 => 60FPS
  • iPhone 6s 12.1.2 => 60FPS
  • iPod touch 6gen 12.3.1 => 30FPS

[Case 2]

  1. Unity 2018.2.21f1
  2. Vuforia 7.5.26
  3. XCode 13.0beta
  • iPhone 11 13.0 => 30FPS
  • iPhone XS 13.0 beta4 => 60FPS
  • iPhone 8 13.0 => 60FPS
  • iPhone 6s 12.1.2 => 60FPS
  • iPod touch 6gen 12.3.1 => 30FPS

I want to know why drop the iPhone 11's fps.

Does not yet Vuforia engine support iPhone 11?

Hi @mcotora,

Thank you for your replying.

I checked that an AR Camera on iPhone 11 Pro runs at 60 fps according to your suggestions.

Thank you.

Hi,

We have uploaded device profile patch for iPhone 11, Pro and Pro Max . In order to get 60fps please follow below steps:

Upon startup the SDK will attempt to download the new device profile and apply it before Vuforia camera start. Whether or not this operation completes depends entirely on upon when Vuforia Engine in initialized, network connectivity and network latency.

It can be applied by performing the following steps:

1.Make sure that the device's Wifi is enabled and can connect to the Internet

2. Uninstall your test app with Vuforia integrated

3. Reinstall the same test app

4. Start the same test app and let it run in idle state for 30 seconds

5. Stop the same test app

6. Restart the same test app

Note that this update will only persist for as long as that version of the test app is installed on that device. Reinstallation of the app on the device *may* over-write the patch. If so, you'll then need to redo the provided steps above.

In Vuforia Engine, the check for an update profile is synchronous and an updated profile will be downloaded before Vuforia.init() completes. This can be disabled to have the SDK revert behavior by setting this hint *before* calling initializing Vuforia: Vuforia::setHint(Vuforia::HINT_ASYNC_FETCH_OF_LATEST_CALIBRATION, 0)

Thank you.
