Macbook Camera (Facetime HD) mirrored

November 15, 2018 - 10:01am #1

Hello,

The camera output of my built in camera (Facetime HD, built in on Macbook Pro 2014) is mirrored. In the Vurofia Configuration I tried to flip the camera horizontally (under Webcam --> Flip Horizontally) and I also tried enabling "Mirror Video Background". Both configurations didn't change the output. It's weird, since the Facetime HD camera is in fact detected by Vuforia.

What would be a good workaround? I tried to flip the x-coordinates on all UV's on the camera render target in runtime, but this didn't have any effect.

Hi,

Could you provide more details? is unity starting and you see a black-screen? or is your camera not recognized?

Thank you.

Hello,

We've observed similar behaviors when a target is not properly size for see-through experiences, but have not observed this when running in PlayMode on Macs.

Thanks,

Maybe set the background plane to 180 for y rotation through code.  You could also try editing the webcam profiles xml in the unity install directory, but not sure it will help cause it sound like it's detecting it alright.  Might be best to purchase an external webcam if you can.  The profiles list is a good place to start.

That outputs the camera in the right way, but that doesn't change the behaviour of Vuforia. I.e.: when my trackable target moves left, the spawned object goes right.

Maybe try giving the ARCamera a -1 x scale.
