Hello Everyone,
I am new to unity and vuforia and planning to make an app where one user (say admin )can click pictures and make them image targets for some videos. Once such user completes this exercise, other user having the app can view such videos on the image targets uploaded by the admin. Is it possible to make such app using User Defined Targets?
If yes, how to upload such targets to cloud and make available to other users?
If No, What is the alternate solution. I have gone through various links such as https://library.vuforia.com/articles/Training/User-Defined-Targets-Guide#How-To-Develop-for-User-Defined-Targets-in-Unity , https://library.vuforia.com/articles/Solution/How-To-Access-and-Modify-Targets-at-Run-Time etc but could not get the clear answer. Please suggest.
Regards
Hello,
Hello,
At this time there is no way to share trackables created with the UDT feature between apps or users. UDT targets reside in memory and there is no API provided to store or persist them. This is a frequent request from our users and our product team continues to evaluate it.
Any update on this matter?
Any update on this matter?
I am trying to store user defined targets locally in the device for now but even the official documentation are outdated and links are going to 404 for unity.
Hello,
Hello,
Apologies for the broken links in the article - I've opened a ticket to get these fixed.
Unfortunately the Vuforia 7.2 SDK still does not provide APIs to add UDT to the database defined beforehand, and use it at runtime.
Thanks,

Thanks for your reply.
Thanks for your reply.
So, what options do we have in this case to persist the UDT targets?
Currently, when i leave the scene, all targets are lost.
My scenario is very simple. I need to take some pictures and associate an image or a video with it.
Hello,
Hello,
This should be possible as long as Vuforia remains initialized and the UDT calls to create the event handler and dataset remain in memory.
Thanks,
