Manually force extended tracking on?

July 13, 2019 - 1:21am #1

Hi, dear Vuforia community.

We use outside image markers which are pretty far away, this makes them prone to jitter and that would be just fine if we could disable tracking of the marker once it is recognized and then switch to rely solely on extended tracking.

So, is there a way to force extended tracking manually whenever we need it?

I don't mind hacking it through reflection or SendMessage to private methods, or even decompiling Vuforia to get it working.

Thanks!

Manually force extended tracking on?

Hello,

Extended Tracking is just another state of our tracking algorithm. Thus, there is no way to disable visual marker tracking while Extended Tracking is running.

Perhaps this article can help: https://library.vuforia.com/articles/Training/Extended-Tracking

My *guess* is that your device does not support Vuforia Fusion, especially ARKit/ARCore, which can help with tracking robustness in certain environments. You can also experiment with using our legacy SLAM engine for Extended Tracking by explicitly enabling it instead of VISLAM. Please refer to the following article (see Fusion APIs section): https://library.vuforia.com/content/vuforia-library/en/articles/Training/vuforia-fusion-article.html.

And the following APIs:
