Hi Developers,
We have a problem in our vuforia app running with the new iPhone SE (2020). The Multiple ARCamera's background view was BLACK!
Our application settings is bellow,
- Unity 2018.4.9f1
- Vuforia Version 8.3.8
- Vuforia Configuration : Digital Eyewear
- Device Type : iPhone + Viewer
- Viewer Config : Vuforia
- Viewer Type : Custom / Cardboard
Our tested cases were...
- new iPhone SE (iOS:13.4) / BLACK OUT
- iPhone 8 (iOS:12.0) / O.K.
- iPhone 8 (iOS:13.4) / O.K.
And, the single view application was going well. But, we have a problem on Multi-View App.
Would anyone check this problem?
Thank you,
nota
Hi.
Hi.
The only difference between iPhone 8 and the new SE in regards to Vuforia is that the first has a device profile and the latter does not.
I am not sure that this is the culprit, however I am checking internally to see if we can provide a device profile also for the new SE.
Thank you, @mcotora,
Thank you, @mcotora,
We are looking forward to your announcement.
Hi,
Hi,
I can confirm that it is a device profile issue, actually we don't have yet a device profile for the iPhone SE.
We are in the process of acquiring the device and setting the device profile up.
Thank you.

Hi @nota,
Hi @nota,
Good news, device profile is up.
Our SDK checks on startup for new device profiles, please give it a try, if that fails follow below steps:
Thank you, @mcotora,
Thank you, @mcotora,
This is good for us! We had checked our app was going well.
We want to run our app in an off-net environment, but this method requires the iPhone to be online.
Hi,
Hi,
Unfortunately not. The new device profile is stored in the app only for the lifetime of the app. Once you uninstall it, the information is lost.
Thank you for your understanding.

Hi, @mcotra
Hi, @mcotra
When will the SDK supporting the iPhone SE be released?
And are there any plans to backport to Vuforia SDK v8.x?
We need to suppot iPhone SE with Unity 2018.4.x (Vuforia SDK v8.x)
Hi,
Hi,
I believe there is a misunderstanding regarding the device and functionality. The post was regarding a deprecated feature with 8.5.8, which required a specific tweak to work with newer devices.
Hi, @mcotra
