Newbie: webcam showing black screen

Hello - I am just starting out with Unity (ver 2017.4.0f1 Personal 64 bit). I am also using Vuforia built into Unity.  Added ARCamera to the Hierarchy panel.  When I click on the play button, I can see that the light on my webcam turns on.  But the game panel shows a black screen. I would very much appreciate some guidance here since I'm stuck.  I've searched on the web and it seems like others have encountered a similar problem....can't seem to figure out the fix.

 

I have checked to ensure that the device name is what appears on windows control panel.

Do you see this black screen when you have Device Type under Digital Eyewear set to "Handheld" in the Vuforia Configuration?

That fixed it!  You're so awesome.  I can see the video feed now.

Where can I find the documentation for this setting to learn more about it?
