Object Recognition - Database Not Found Unity/Android

August 2, 2017 - 7:32am #1

Hello!

I am currently trying to make a Unity build using your object recognition sample scene in Unity for Android. I have used the object scanner to make .OD files and turned them into databases that I downloaded and loaded into Unity. When I make a build and open the Object Recognition Scene this prompt appears:

"Database Not Found - Please scan an object and load a database"

When I saw this I did some digging and found the configuration file and enabled/activated my newly added databases:

Then I made a new build and I still get the same prompt: Database not Found.

I found a similar thread, but it was no help and talked about a previous version of the Unity Plugin: https://developer.vuforia.com/forum/vuforia-40/database-not-found

What could I be doing wrong?

Thanks,

Joe

Object Recognition - Database Not Found Unity/Android

Hello Joe,

I was able to reproduce your issue with our sample project and have logged the bug with our team.

I did find a work around for the issue. I was running into this issue when I built the app with the splash, menu, and loading scenes at the start of the app. Removing these scenes and just loading the object reco scene I was able to detect my object and didn't receive an error. Could you please try the same and let me know if you are able to detect your object?

I'll update this thread with any news of the issue you've reported here.

Sorry for the inconvenience and please let me know if my work around works for you,
