Queastions about early version of Vuforia in Unity

July 26, 2019 - 6:47am #1

Hi,

1) I would like to ask if early version of Vuforia (published around or before 2016) change the transform of ARCamera rather than the transform of image targets (what it is like today) if the target is found and has been moved.

If yes, can anyone tell me in which version is that change made?

2) Is there another version of Vuforia which the y value of image target's transform always remain the same no matter how the target is moved in the real world?

I know those are strange questions. The reason I am asking is because I've found some project online which use early version of vuforia and the authors have not updated them for a long time. I tried to rebuild them with the latest version using the scripts provided and some problems occur. I think it has something to do with the change of ARCamera and image targets in different versions and want to prove it.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Thank you, Medabit! That is the issue and the program functions normally now.

Hello,

I've looked through our documentation and cannot find any changes that align with your 2016 timeframe.

Have you experimented with changing the World Center Mode (set in the ARCamera), which defines which object in the scene will serve as the origin ( 0,0,0 ) of the scene's world space:

  • SPECIFIC_TARGET allows you to select which target is used as the scene origin
  • FIRST_TARGET uses the first target detected as the scene origin
  • DEVICE uses the ARCamera as the scene origin

Thanks,
