real light detection

Hi all,

 

I was wondering if there's any way we can detect the real light from real physical environment, and so that AR object cast shadow accordingly to light source orientation. Any related tutorial or links? I did fair amount of research but couldn't really find one. Let me know if you do have any idea. Thanks guys.

There is a free AR framewrok called (8TH WALL) that just do that, and for free !! they also gives you a shader that allows you to drop shadows on invisible plane. I am wondering why Vuforia does not support this or simply mention a roadmap that address this big issue.
