Simulation Play Mode and Virtual Buttons

I need a little clarification with the new Simulation Play Mode : are virtual buttons supported ? Is there a way to interact with them or is the simulation play mode only to visualize tracking ?

Simulation mode is intended to test Area Targets however as per below information using other features is also possible.
