Superimposing AR layer onto video rather than onto camera input?

Hi -

I know I can use Vuforia + Unity to superimpose objects onto target images when viewed through the camera...however is it possible to do this based on prerecorded video? Essentially, I have recorded video of a scene with a target image in it. I'd like to have video playback in Unity, but superimpose objects onto the target objects within the video that's playing...so basically, the basic vuforia functionality yet performed on a prerecorded movie rather than camera input. Any advice??

It will take a bit of work, but I think this might be possible using the new External Camera features.  I haven't delved into yet so can't say for sure. And it's not available for iOS yet, so if that's a requirement you might have to look elsewhere.

Hello,

We are working to roll out iOS support for Extenal Camera ASAP. Stay tuned!

Thanks,
