This is correct. Ground Plane will launch with Vuforia 7, which does not currently have a public release date. Specific details of the feature will be available closer to when the feature is launched. Keep an eye on https://developer.vuforia.com/ for more details as they become available.

I would like to know more about the vuforia ground plane feature. For what I understood, it will work similarly to ARkit and ARcore, but with a wider range of devices, correct? Will it have automatic scale, too? Is there a release date already? Thanks.

As mentioned here, https://developer.vuforia.com/, Vuforia 7 will introduce Vuforia Fusion which will utilize ARKit and ARCore for relevant features. Ground plane will be the first of these features and will also be available in Vuforia 7.
