Unity 2017.2.0b2 Throws System.TypeLoadException: Could not load type 'UnityEngine.VR.VRSettings' from assembly 'Vuforia.UnityEx

July 10, 2017 - 7:46am #1

I am using the inbuilt Vuforia UnityExtensions that now comes with the latest Unity Beta Build released 7/7, 2017.2.0b2

I have;

  • Added an ARCamera and an ImageTarget GameObject to my scene
  • Enabled Vuforia AR within the Player Settings
  • Imported the package through unity when it requested me to do so
  • Enabled  Vuforia Play Mode
  • Used a valid App License Key
  • Digital Eyewear type is set to None

When I attempt to run the scene the system throws the following exception:

Exception in callback: System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. ---> System.TypeLoadException: Could not load type 'UnityEngine.VR.VRSettings' from assembly 'Vuforia.UnityExtensions'.

What could be causing this issue, I have attempted installing the Vuforia Extension Package Manually but this conflicts with the existing package that Unity is installing it self

Hello kaldhuLabs,

This is a known issue for the current beta version that our team is working on. We're targeting a near-term version of the current beta for a fix. I'll update this thread when the fix is going out.

Thanks,
