Unity UWP License Error

Hi all,

I'm currently developing an AR app for UWP using Unity. Everything works fine in the Unity Player, but when I'm trying do Build for UWP I run into problems...

Using "Build & Run" in Unity the app starts without any complaints and everything looks right, the problem is that recognition of my VuMarks just doesn't work. When I open the generated Solution in Visual Studio and start debugging however, the code breaks at some native Vuforia code.

Since it seems to be related to the license key, I tried setting up a new one (free Developer License) and even generated a completely new account, but that didn't do anything.

The "____licenseKey0_marshaled" variable seems to be correct (the same as in my developer account, as far as I can see...).

I'm guess this is some kind of bug. I'd be thankful for any help!

Hello janwilch,

Which version of Unity and Vuforia are you using?

Thanks,

Hi Strasza,

I still couldn't find a solution to this on my side. Is there any progress on Vuforia's end?

Cheers

Hi Jan and Vuforia support,

I'm having the exact same issue using Unity 2017.2.0p3 with it's build-in Vuforia SDK 6.5.25.

Hello theolagendijk,

When was your key purchased? Do you see this if you use a free development key as well?

Thanks,

Vuforia Support

Hi Strasza,

Thanks for your reply, I did not subscribe to this thread so I'm glad I noticed it just now.

To answer your questions;

1) I purchased my Classic key Nov 04, 2017 13:05.

Hello again,

I created a new project in Unity 2017.2.0f3 with a free development key to test this again. I'll provide the build steps I used as well as some additional information to confirm you have set below.

Build Steps:

Hi Strasza!!

I was wondering if this process works to generate a .exe file for windows 10?

regards

Glad to hear that =)

Please let me know if you have any other questions!

Thanks,

Sorry to hijack this thread. But I'm running into this exact same issue. I am using the free license. I tried both running directly from VS and also by installing the created app and launching it from the start menu.

What happens when you run the app package you create? This shouldn't be attached to VS and shouldn't result in this crash.

Thanks,

Hi,

i have the same issue but with hololens. i followed your installation guide - execpt the step with the execution of the powershell ps1 file - because hololens does not support deployment other than apsx files.

Any Idea?

What versions of Unity and Vuforia are you using? Do you see any errors in the logs?

Thanks,

Vuforia Support

I got into the same situation.

With

*Unity 2019.1.6f1

*Vuforia 8.1.11

I got Access Denied Exception while booting app,and then nothing appear after I ignored that exception.

same issue, it seemed to happen all of a sudden. I meanwhile updated Unity, Vuforia to the latest stable versions and I can't even start a new project.

I pasted the correct LicenseKey, it runs without any error or warning in the editor.

Unity 2019..1.10.f1 - Vuforia 8.3.8
