Update driver

July 9, 2020 - 2:05am #1

Hello,

I'm using Unity 2019.2.12f1 and Vuforia 9.1.7 to develop an app for my Magic Leap One. Since image recognition doesn't work with images smaller than 10 cm width and height, I decided to calibrate the device camera. So, I followed the instructions from https://library.vuforia.com/content/vuforia-library/en/articles/Solution/external-camera-calibration.html and collected all necessary calibration data.

Afterwards I followed this tutorial (https://library.vuforia.com/content/vuforia-library/en/articles/Solution/file-driver.html) to update my Magic Leap file driver but it didn't work as there were always errors occuring. So my question is: Is there an easier way to update the driver? Or does anyone know a better tutorial?

Is there another way to get the generated files?

Best regards,

Simon

So, the external camera feature is currently not possible with the Magic Leap 1. Did I understand it correct?

Best regards,

Simon

Hi,

After discussing with the dev team I can confirm the following:

1. We did not test the external camera feature with Magic leap

2. There are certain parameter not available through the driver route, which we adjusted specifically for Magic Leap

Performance will be likely worse as you using the same camera/resolution and without the changes mentioned above.

Thank you.

Hi,

Technically you performed all the right steps in changing the driver. However I am not sure if there are unkown steps to be performed as this was intended for use with external cameras.

I am checking with the dev team, if this is possible.

Thank you.
