Use Java or UnityScript

I am new to Unity and Vuforia. Do I need to learn Java or can I do everything I  need in Vuforia using UnityScript?

For using Vuforia features, we have a full suite of APIs available for C# scripting in Unity: https://library.vuforia.com/sites/default/api/unity/index.html

I cannot think of any explicit reason why you would need to use Java.
