Hey everyone, I'm trying to make an app for android on a Samsung Tab S6 but I have a very annoying problem that the background video freezes. When the application pauses (either by lockscreen or going to the home screen) and then resuming the video background freezes, but this only happens after getting a lock on a ImageTarget. If I switch back and forth before looking at a target it's no issue but after seeing a target once (looking at it or not) it freezes after coming back from a pause. The same happens in the Unity Editor as well if I Disable and then Enable the VuforiaBehaviour. Only after seeing a Image Target the video freezes after a Disable-> Enable. In both instances the tracking still works, the ImageMarker is found and the object I have on there does get shown and is in the right position. I've tried to disable the vuforia behavior, destroy the ARCamera and Instantiate a new one. This does resume the video background however the tracking/ImageTargets doesn't work anymore after that. I've tried to Disable/Enable the videobackground separately but that had no effect either. I'm using Unity 2018.4.14 with vuforia 8.3.8
I've tried to upgrade to Unity 2019.2.1, it didn't change anything
I painfully tried to update to Unity 2019.3 with Vuforia 8.6.10 and after fixing all the packaging issues it still has the same problem. There is no error in the unity console nor in the abd logs to hint on why this happens I've seen a few reports on this but I haven't seen the answer anywhere yet and as this makes the app rather unusable I want to know if this can be fixed before I continue.
Almost feels awkward to post
Almost feels awkward to post my own answer.....
I'm using a shader that takes the VuforiaRenderer.Instance.VideoBackgroundTexture as an input and this is what breaks it all. once I disabled this it all works fine again... I would like to know why this is the case though?
