Video playback in iOS Application

January 16, 2018 - 7:35pm #1

Hello,

I'm trying to create an AR scene with Vuforia where a 3D model is rendered above an image target with a quad playing a video right behind the model. While building the app in XCode, I receive an error saying MPMoviePlayerViewController is deprecated. I'm essentially dropping the video right on the quad, and it plays fine in the editor. Does anyone have any idea of what I could do to make this work? Please let me know.

Thanks,

Dont think this is related to Vuforia.  That class is deprecated in iOS 9.  Maybe the version of Unity you are using is still using the old way of playing videos.  Or the type of video file is not compatible with something (try transcoding it inside of Unity)  Maybe create a blank project, and get just a video playing on a quad working first.  Then add in Vuforia later.  I've had no issues with Vuforia and videos on quads in 5.6 and later tested on many versions of iOS.  So it does work, just not sure what you are doing wrong exactly.
