vuforia device type

I've been hunting the internet for most of today and i cannot find a solution at all to my problem. How can i change the device type from phone + viewer to handheld depending what scene im in.

basically making it possible to experience the Augemented handheld version and the ARVR version on the same app when changing scenes?

Please note that we deprecated with 8.5 Phone+Viewer and DigitalEyear (except Hololens 1+2 and Vuzix 300) as options.
