Vuforia ImageTargets sample crashes on iOS 11

ImageTracking works when pushing Play in Unity and holding up the tracker images in front of the MacbookPro camera. However, building it out to an iPhone 7 Plus I get the "Made With Unity" splash, the question to allow camera usage but then after allowing that the screen goes black and ~5 seconds later the phone reboots.

Update.

In desperation I tried updating all things android through Android Studio and then it started working.
