Vuforia Unity model shaking

September 3, 2017 - 11:43pm #1

Hi,

I'm using Unity 5.5.2 and Vuforia 6.2.10

I'm using Used Defined Targets to scan an image and display the model on top the image.

The scale of my UserDefinedTarget gameobject is (0.5f, 0.5f, 0.5f)

The scale of my Model is (0.3f, 0.3f, 0.3f)

The issue that I'm facing is, the model is not stable and keeps shaking even if I hold the device stable.

This is the link to the video.

Can anyone please tell me what is wrong with my current set up and why does the model keeps shaking.

Vuforia Unity model shaking

Hello sabarishskywaltz,

A model shaking when augmented over a User Defined Target is usually the result of a non-ideal target. UDTs will perform best with a high quality image that has good feature points. I tested UDT similarly to you in your video (on my keyboard) and saw similar behavior, but when I tested it on a higher quality image (such as those used in the sample project) I didn't see any shaking in the model.

If you haven't already, I recommend reviewing this article: https://library.vuforia.com/articles/Solution/Optimizing-Target-Detection-and-Tracking-Stability.html The info about Image Targets applies to UDT as well and will help you determine good targets to use in your app.

Thanks,
