c++ smart terrain: mesh handling

February 4, 2015 - 6:33am #1

hi vuforia team,

we are still working on a c++ smart terrain implementation and we are making progress.

We encountered an issue during mesh handling. we've created a reconstructionFromTarget and it seems that we just get the surface/props trackables if the initialization target (image) is not tracked (not in frame)

another issue we encountered right now is that our mesh is sometimes a NoImplExc? What does this mean?

Hello David,

it's not about the need of a target, thats clear anyway. It's about having to film it all the time, the tracking is not "extended". Or do we just have to activate the extension setting?

The bigger issues is that the mesh updates only come when the target is lost, so we don't see the mesh "growing". Any idea why thats happening?

Greetings,

Markus

The initialization target is needed to establish a ground truth reference for the reconstruction - e.g. to provide a scale reference.

-) Another problem is, that if i have a mesh (surface) and i want to track it correctly i always have to film the initialization target, is this correct? thats a kind of problem, because we dont want to film the initialization target all the time.
