Halted all Vuforia development - please reconsider

When you’re charging 1.5 - 5 cents per recognition event, that’s very, very expensive.  Qualcomm likes to obfiscate the issue by pointing out that most apps would be at the $99 per month level (still $1200 a year by the way), but that just means most of the Vuforia apps go almost unused, it doesn’t change the fact that the cost of deploying AR per customer is very high.  I am not paying $1200 a year for the failed projects, nor will anyone else.

I've written several major AR games using Vuforia before, and a game session presumably would trigger multiple recognition events, let’s say 3 per play (I’m making that up, it might be much more— I have no idea how often they go 5 seconds between target views).  If the average customer plays the game twice, that’s only 500-700 customers I can afford at the $99 a month level!

Stop charging for on device recognition events, and make the product about $99 a month to remove the watermark mimicking the Unity business model, and you'll generate revenues that far surpass the dozen or so fortune 100 companies that will pay for Vuforia at the new prices.  (And they'll all lose money, but will do it for brand reasons).

If this pricing stands, there will never be a Vuforia 5.0 - this is the end of the product.
